Time to start haying....

My wonderful future hubbie has started his 2nd year of custom bailing. That means I am running getting fuel, and net wrap, twine, lunches, and parts. Also I help drive tractors and move equiptment. It is a very busy time of year. Yesterdays excitment involved these...

This rock made its way through FH's mower causing some major damage booo :(

I snuck a picture of FH working hard.. while he finished this I got the learn to drive the 4wheeler for the first time WHICH I LOVED to pick up rocks in the field.

Making June Mad ... opps

So mowing the yard has become quite the production with June and I in the past few weeks. As you know she brings misc. items in the yard including many, many, many dear parts now including legs skulls ribs and jaws.

While mowing I stop and pic up her "toys" and attempt to throw them in the drive way so I can mow.... she goes pics them up and then brings them back to the yard.

So I have resorted to putting them on the mower with me untill I am finished mowing. THis gets June MAD MAD MAD!! chasing the mower, barking, attempting to get on the mower.

Chinese Buffet green beans

I am a sucker for chinese food.... my theory is even bad chinese is good chinese. I love love love the green beans thats most chinese buffets and i am pretty sure they arent that bad for you which is a bonus.

found a receipe online and THEY ARE AMAZING.

how do i know they were good? FH ate them... liked them.... and then continued to eat them under his own free will..... SAY WHAT?!?!?!? yup hell has frozen over FH ate a veggie!

Patriotic Pie

I made Patriotic pie this weekend! I saw this:



in the weekly hyvee add and it looked pretty. Yes i didnt make it cause I thought it looked tasty but because it looked cute ha ha.


And.... I was right how pretty is thie 4th of July themed pie.
Turns out it tasted really good too! very easy and very tasty.

And FH liked it WINNER WINNER PATRIOTIC PIE DINNER!!!!

Another Freebie!

Mabe another inprompto trip to walmart today got some mroe tips on free items using coupons.

Turns out they hadnt priced the product the same as another walmart so no luck.

BUT the coupon fairy had visited the centerville walmart. ha ha someone had left coupons clipped and placed in various isles under products.

there were 2 $2 off coupons under the razors, and this product was only $1.97 so all I had to pay was sales tax!

SUBTOTAL -0.06 ha ha ha this couponing this had become kinda fun its a challenge!

EVERYONE GETS WATERMELLON!

Everyone on the farm got some watermellon today. I took the left over rinds from the watermellon FH and I shared and gave them to June and the chickens.

I dont think it was stinky enough for June she licked it then left it alone in a few days she will be carring it around like its gold!

The chickens were scared of it at first.

Finally one brave soul approached and liked it!

Soon they were all taking bites and talking and clucking up a storm.

Chicken Update/ New Chickens

FH's parents have given us thier chickens all 8 of them so that is in addition our rooster Bart and our 4 hens. Here are our new ladies!

We will be having eggs like crazy! More than we can ever eat. We have been giving them away to people we work with they seem to enjoy them.

These are our original chickens they have to be seperated.

They arent thrilled about being together in the small area they have started picking on each other again. ;(
